I doubt he will play quarterback here. I think hes going to play DB or WR.

So are we recruiting him as a QB then?

I think you'll see us offer a lot of kids who could play either QB or DB. I'm assuming as a way to recruit QB's without scaring off Little Tate.
Then again, no offer for Crawford, right UB?

Still don't understand that one 42. If he can't play QB, he fits the mold of a WR.

From BWI...has offers from PSU and Northwestern and has had visitors from schools such as Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Maryland and Rutgers. Talks about his visit to PSU for a junior day and says the Nittany Lions lead.

Penn State leads Georgia Tech. PSU is promising a look at QB.

It looks like PSU could be getting a verbal here pretty soon.
If Drake is the #2 QB in this class, and we get a #1 like Forcier, I'll be happy.
If Drake is the #1...

Not too sure I like this potential early verbal from Drake. We need an ALPHA QB and this kid ain't it. That said, he has an offer from Northwestern. They seem to have a knack for finding an under the radar type that does well. Basanez and the current guy as examples.

I would be fine with a verbal from Curtis. I've watched 3 or 4 of his highlight films on YouTube as well as some of the stuff on Rivals and I like his ability on the ground as well as his confidence. He could contribute to this team whether he is at the QB position or at the WR position early on, and he has a respectable arm and seems to have good poise. That being said, I think we need a situation where it is Forcier/Dukes - Shoop/Dukes or else it will be hard NOT to consider QB recruiting for '09 a failure.
I'm not freaking out because Devlin has yet to even see the field, but I hate how they go about recruiting the QB position and they have followed the same blueprint for 3 years now. Let the depth chart clear significantly, offer a handful of high end prospects [3-5] and hope someone jumps at the offer. I'm sure it would be great if recruits were jumping, but when they don't you essentially go 2-3 years without bothering to even bring in a QB. It is M-A-Y and this is the third consecutive year they have done this and it already appears to be down to 1 QB - Tate Forcier. Aaron Murray to UGA, Morgan Newton has no interest, Kevin Newsome to UM, Jordan Reed no interest and so on. I hope Tate jumps but if not something tells me we are going to be stroking Shoop's ego.

I was just about to ask about Jordan Reed. Is the reason for his lack of interest because of no interest from our side?

I have read that Reed is not 100% sure he wants to play college football. If true, I would get as far away as possible.
The only position that worries me in this class is QB. All other positions of need (WR, OT, CB, S) have been or should be addressed.
A well-connected poster on TAP says that we will have a top-flite QB by the fall. I'm hopeful his info comes to fruition.

Shoop and Drake would be an utter failure. None of them if an alpha QB. JMO
