PSU, Rutgers, and UConn have offered, joining West Virginia and Western Michigan. Favors PSU over Rutgers, and sounds like he's likely to verbal to PSU in the future.

In the back of my mind I was thinking the PA OL that got a ship recently could be Adam Citko but I guessed wrong. Seems like a good offer...we need OTs in the worst way.

Plays 4A but I'm not sure how much I like that reported 330 pound bench. I know that ST. Joe's Prep plays quality ball, and doesn't shy away from competition [Herbstreit Classic - not too long ago] but does anyone know much about this OT? I know they take football seriously, are a private school and Rich Gannon is one of many Alumni but I can't recall any St. Joseph's players coming to Penn State. Philly is obviously a basketball dominated area as far as H.S. athletics, but PA in general has always been strong as far as football goes.

I've seen him listed at 6'5 285-275, and I've seen him listed at 6'4 275-268. Has anyone seen a reported or verified 40 time? I'll just ease my mind and assume he showed at numerous Penn State camps, JDs or the most recent on April 5th and Dick Anderson/Bill Kenney saw what he had to offer and he earned his offer. I won't complain because there are certainly no guarantee's that he is coming to Penn State, but it sounds like potential starting RT material after a [RS as freshman, back-up as a RS freshman then possibly in the mix as a RS sophomore].

I'm just praying his size is accurate and the OL coaches evaluated him, we always seem to bring in that 6'5-6'4 guy who doesn't have the greatest feet or agility and end up with a ton of guards and few OTs. Sorry if the post is too long.

Looks like the kid just sent out his video a few weeks ago. He is starting to get some decent offers.

It does look like PSU is his favorite. That's a breath of fresh air...an in-state player at a position of need who actually likes Penn State! Wow - whoulda thunk?

Well I will be hopefully looking forward to one commitment on 4/19...'The whole family will be at the Blue & White game' sounds like a pre-spring game commitment or post-spring game commitment to me. Really sucks that lifelong Penn State fans seem to be few & far between lately in PA but I'm glad an OT is a lifelong fan. I really hope it happens...we really need to get some things taken care of on the OL & Arcidiacono at OT along with Howle at C is a good start.

Arcidiacono, a 6-5, 290-pound junior tackle at St. Joseph's Prep, will convene a press conference at that time to confirm his college decision. His future school is expected to be Penn State or Florida.
Interesting to see Florida in the mix. But let's hope the lifelong PSU fan references above hold true and he stays home.

Nice to see a kid from a school starting with "Saint" and an offer from ND choose good over evil.

Very good for us, I doubt Shrive is going to remain in-state. Picking up numerous OTs is obviously a top priority, getting an in-state OT who is a Penn State fan very early on helps a lot. I love when we can get in-state kids, real sense of pride when you can fill some of your positions of need with homegrown talent.

Good pickup for the Nits. Hopefully this young man will be ready to contribute in 2-3 years.

ESPN - Exodus of Pa.'s top prospects has PSU and Pitt looking elsewhere - Football Recruiting

Quote:
ESPNRISE.com Pennsylvania Game of the Week

St. Joseph's Prep-Philadelphia (5-2) vs. Cardinal O'Hara-Springfield (7-0), Friday, 6 p.m. ET:

This will go a long way to determine the Philadelphia Catholic League Red Division title but won't be the last. The two could meet again for the first time in the PIAA District 12 playoffs (Editor's Note: This is the first year PCL teams will participate in the PIAA state playoffs). The rivalry game will be televised on ESPNU.

The Hawklets have won three straight games after splitting their first four. They opened the season knocking off Parkland-Allentown and St. Anthony's-South Huntington (N.Y.) but dropped the next two. Last weekend, the Hawklets dismantled Cheltenham 52-23 and have jumpstarted an offense totaling 94 points in the last two contests. Prep's top prospect is offensive tackle Mark Arcidiacono, who says he'll sign with Penn State.

O'Hara, nationally ranked by ESPN RISE, needed overtime to stop Archbishop Ryan-Philadelphia 28-22 Saturday. The Lions' high-powered offense is fueled by quarterback Tom Savage. For the season, the Rutgers-bound Savage has passed for 996 yards and nine TDs. Bob Royal and Billy Morgan, each with 15 receptions, are his favorite targets.
