Schiano encourages players to take their visits, he doesn't believe in "soft verbals" that are shaky and likely to decommit. Any belief that Hodges isn't solid is just speculation at this point. Contrary to the claims of one Bob L., no recruits are ever pressured to verbal.
Scott leaving was a hit, but it's not the end of the world. We just learned that we'll probably get Antwan Lowery last week. There's no reason to think that the class won't be fine at this point.

What our side has been hearing since March was that Carson was likely headed to Piscataway. There was some apprehension after PSU offered, but lately it's more of the same. Do you read the TAP forum? Alkire said a few weeks ago that while he wrote an article claiming that Carson was still 50/50, from speaking to him there was a clear difference when Carson was mentioning Rutgers, and he'd be surprised if Carson didn't end up there.
A few months ago, Carson also made comments to the effect that he was a little worried about the rumors of Schiano leaving for PSU. So essentially, that balances out any apprehension about the PSU staff. In fact, I don't think the rumors hurt PSU because Carson would definitely go there if Schiano was their coach.
