There is a ton of recruiting going on out there. The gurus just may not know it.

It has been rumored that PSU may lose a few players to transfer.
A few to the pros. A few 5th year guys NOT returning.
PSU has ships available and are working hard for more players. It will be a busy January.

Not exactly going out on a limb, players transfer and not return for their fifth year every season.

Scout.com: Scouts Weigh in on the Top 25

The only real constant for PSU is Eric Shrive, who right now is #20 in the actual top 25.

Some of these guys leave Eric Shrive out of there top 25 which is hilarious. There are only two other Nittany Lion commits that make an appearance on any of the lists; Darrell Givens @ #25 on Matt Alkire's list (PA regional scout) & Gerald Hodges @ #25 on M. Bakas list (Florida regional scout).

Bob L. keeps on truckin' and manages to find a way to keep Eric Shrive out of his top 25. Kudos to him for not showing any bias against PSU (sarcasm), while talking up Shrive along with Alkire (has Shrive at #5) and bragging on Shrive - his rankings certainly reflect all that high praise he has been doling out.

Dammit, I let my BWI sub run out. Sounds pretty good for PSU in '10 RE: NJ, at least the effort seems to be there this year. There are way too many talented kids year in and year out for us not to go into NJ, strike early, and see what happens. If I had to guess I would assume these are Vandy's efforts, maybe some of McQueary?

I thought Anderson recruited guys like Carson and Hodges, no?

nope -- Vandy recruited them according to this. That's fun to play around with, and you can see Anderson recruited Shrive (though we know Kenney played a big role too).

PSU never left South Jersey.

However, with Anderson getting older, you never see him in the rest of the state now. He used to recruit it very well.

Anderson may have played a part in both Carson and Hodges, I'm not sure...but I had thought Vandy was the lead for both. I think Joe called Hodges prior to him ever making a commitment as well, so maybe that helped keep Hodges on the fence after his RU commitment.

I was talking about '10 though, I assume that Phil or Sean is saying who it is recruiting all these kids in NJ. I could just wait and get the BWI magazine but EH, - I assumed Vandy was doing some early leg work in NJ but it was just that, an assumption.

there is still the possibility to boost our ranking heavily depending on how we finish out the year...it would be possible with a little help to finish in the top 15
