slamonline.com/online/media/slam-tv/2009/02/slamadaday-tim-frazier-on-keewyn-reece [w/ video] - 2/18 - Link was giving me a ton of trouble, just remove the space between http:// slam...

Quote:
This is the footage Penn State fans have been waiting for. When Strake Jesuit published its game report after Friday’s 48-62 win against Spring Woods HS, saying that Tim Frazier jumped over Keewyn Reece, fans buzzed about the athleticism of the 6-2, 160-pound guard.

But no one imagined he actually did this!

Frazier, a Houston native, is the nation’s No. 13-ranked point guard and a three-star recruit. Called “Tiny Mini” by his teammates because of his wiry strong frame, Frazier will need to add muscle as a Nittany Lion next season, but he already has the tools to be Talor Battle’s heir apparent. With Stanley Pringle gone, Frazier will have a legitimate shot at starting from the getgo.

The accolades continue: Frazier’s the reigning high school Defensive Player of the Year, and Rivals named him the quickest Big Ten recruit. He rebounds well for his size, recording a triple-double this season. Frazier’s offensive game is exactly this: attacking the basket with a vengeance. He gets most of his points in the paint, hence his high field goal percentage. His outside shot is the biggest area in which he needs to improve–he’s made only five 3s on the season (off of 13 attempts). You can check the rest of his senior stats here.

Frazier led the team last Friday with 19 points, 5 boards and 3 steals. The team finished its regular season yesterday with a 32-0 record. The Crusaders are ranked No. 1 in Texas’ largest classification, Class 5A, and MaxPreps ranks the team No . 7 in the nation.

I think so as well. Pringle had a lot of speed and was bringing the ball up more often this past season. Frazier's speed and penetration will threaten other teams and we need that now that Pringle is gone.

Battle can't constantly have the ball in his hands - getting worn out just getting up the court before the play even. If we have a closer it is Battle, so I suspect if Frazier is up to the challenge (more mentally than physically - unless injury strikes of course) he will get plenty of PT.

He can help tremendously with penetration/points, penetration/dishing the ball, and just pushing the ball and making the right plays passing the ball.
