DB Shaw getting nation-wide interest - ESPN
Quote:
Palmdale (Calif.) defensive back Joshua Shaw has emerged as one of the nation's top cover corners this spring and summer. The athlete is planning to unofficially visit two of his favorites in August and is close to finalizing three of his official visits as well.
Shaw might be the most physical cornerback in the West region. He had a dominant showing at the NIKE Camp at Stanford and used his big body, 6-2, 180 pounds, to manhandle opposing receivers at the line of scrimmage.
He's now holding scholarship offers from just about every top program in the nation and his list of favorites continues to change almost weekly.
"Ohio State is my most recent offer and I'm very interested in them right now," Shaw said. "Right now, I'm planning to take an unofficial visit to Ohio State and Notre Dame the same weekend in August.
"I don't have the exact dates but I'm going to fly in to South Bend one morning, spend the day there and then drive to Columbus the next day and then fly home out of Columbus. I'm going to officially visit both schools as well and those visits will both be when they play USC."
Ohio State will take on USC (Sept. 12) and Notre Dame will host the Trojans (Oct. 17). A trip to LSU is also close to be finalized.
"LSU is going to offer me and I'm going to lock in my visit with them as soon as they do," Shaw said. "I'm looking to visit the weekend they play Florida (Oct. 10) and that's all I have set right now.
"I'm definitely going to take all five visits and they'll all be to out of state schools. Locally, I like USC and UCLA a lot but I can just use an unofficial visit for each of them. I'm going to unofficially visit Washington in the fall as well and then Oklahoma, and Tennessee are a few more schools I may take my last visits to.
"I plan to graduate early and have my decision made in December so I need to take all my trips during the season. That's actually a good thing because I want to see what the game atmosphere is like at all the schools I'm looking at. Right now, I don't really have a top five anymore. Every day it changes for me so for now on, I'm just going to list a bunch of schools I like rather than single out five, it will just make it easier for me."

ESPN.com - Big Ten schools after DB Shaw

Big Ten schools after DB Shaw
Under Armour All-American defensive back Joshua Shaw (Palmdale, Calif.) says he is strongly considering three Big Ten schools. "I'm a fan of Big Ten football," Shaw said. "I like the three power house teams, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State."
Shaw has scholarship offers from at least two dozen schools. He has narrowed his list down to the three Big Ten schools as well as USC, UCLA, Washington, LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Notre Dame. All but the Nittany Lions have offered and Shaw feels that offer will soon be on the way.
Shaw has already scheduled three official visits. He will visit Ohio State the weekend of Sept. 12 when the Buckeyes take on USC. He will make a trip to LSU the weekend of Oct. 10 when the Tigers host Florida. Shaw will make an official visit to Notre Dame the weekend of Oct. 17 when the Irish play USC.
"I'll definitely take all five official visits, but I won't take any to West Coast schools," Shaw said. "UCLA, USC and Washington won't get official visits. All the schools are even. If I had to make a decision today it would be like picking out of a hat."
The 6-foot-2 and 180-pound Shaw made 40 solo tackles and intercepted four passes during his junior season.

ESPN.com - DB Shaw likes Ohio State
8/10
Quote:
DB Shaw likes Ohio State
Palmdale (Calif.) defensive back Joshua Shaw knew he would enjoy his unofficial visit to Ohio State but even he was surprised by just how much of an impact the visit would have.
Shaw went in to his recent visit to Ohio State with the Buckeyes as one of his top five to seven schools and left with the Buckeyes sitting at the top of his list.
"Ohio State is definitely my leader right now," Shaw said. "I can't even tell you how great the trip was for me. Everything went great and I can't think of a single negative to say about the visit. So many things stood out it's hard to pick just one but the environment was probably the thing that stands out the most.
"Everyone is crazy for football there and I love the passion the people have for Buckeye football. It's a place I can definitely see myself at for my collegiate years. Heading in to the trip, I thought I might not like Columbus that much but I was just blown away and felt very comfortable there."
Shaw will head back to Ohio State for an official visit (Sept. 11). He had set visit with LSU (Oct. 9) and Notre Dame (Oct. 16) and just set a visit with Florida Sunday night.
"They just offered me last night," Shaw said. "I've liked Florida for awhile so I was excited to get that offer and will visit (Sept. 19) when they play Tennessee. My last visit will be to Michigan, Oklahoma or Tennessee.
"I will know in a couple of weeks and I'm just going to wait and see which school needs me the most and where I think I could be most comfortable over the next four years. I'm also planning to check out a USC practice this weekend and UCLA next weekend. I'm graduating early so I would love to have my decision made on Christmas day if I could."
