'09 NC WR Jheranie Boyd (Official Offer)
'09 NC WR Jheranie Boyd
Wide Receiver
Gastonia (NC) Ashbrook
Ht: 6-foot-3
Wt: 180 lbs
Forty: 4.45 secs
Class: 2009 (High School)
Quote:
The high-flying Boyd received six scholarship offers this past week as coaches tried to squeeze in last-minute visits before a dead period began this weekend. Alabama, Maryland, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Liberty and Wake Forest offered scholarships to Boyd within the past week.
Clemson started the flurry with an offer Monday, or maybe even earlier. Briggs can’t remember for sure when the Tigers presented their deal because, quite frankly, the offers are getting hard to keep track of.
“Every major college that came in here has already offered Jheranie or is going to,” Briggs said. “It’s amazing how they have flocked in here.”
Briggs expects to see more offers come Boyd’s way. North Carolina has invited him to junior day. Florida and Georgia are also courting him.

WR Jheranie Boyd (6-3 185) Gastonia, NC spent Saturday in Raleigh watching the NC State spring game. He doens't plan to visit any more schools until the summer. Boyd said he's hearing a lot from Clemson and USC. He spoke with Clemson recruiter Billy Napier Monday, and he talked to USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. last week and plans to call him again this week. "They (USC and Clemson) are showing strong interest," Boyd said. Privately, he has narrowed his list to nine, and he won't reveal the entire list until the summer. But he said USC and Clemson had made the cut. Boyd also has offers from Mississippi State, Alabama, NC State, Wake Forest, Maryland, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Oregon and Southern Cal.

From the NC State site. Boyd and his mom had a good time on their visit to NC State. He will announce his narrowed down list this summer, and doesn't plan on giving a verbal until around signing day.

Jheranie has 21 offers with the most recent coming from Ohio State, Colorado and Virginia Tech. He says he wants to visit Columbus after only speaking with Coach Bollman one time and is interested to see how Terrelle Pryor develops this season. He posted a 10.45-second electronically-timed 100m this spring. Clemson is his current leader.
