Marvin has an older brother that is being recruited by EMU, which is just down the street from UM. Apparently if his brother decides on EMU the entire family would move to the area. That would only help Michigan's chances. This kid is a force for his varsity squad, definite future 5* material IMO.

I know it is still really really really early, but I would be shocked to see Marvin end up anywhere other than Michigan...

I'd agree with you that Michigan are the heavy favorites, but it's extremely early.
He's only a sophomore, which means he's still got 2 more years of high school left. Who knows if Carr and his staff will even be around by the time this kid is ready for college.
He is a stud though and a probable 5* Top 25 type player for the '10 class.

His brother is now in talks about walking onto Michigan. If that doesn't work he'll walk on to EMU. Still, it's a positive development for Michigan either way.

Marvin loved his visit to Columbus but says Michigan is still his leader. He says Coach Johnson offered him verbally while on his tour.

From the Michigan site. USC and Florida have offered. He plans to visit USC, Tennessee and Michigan this summer and will now take his time and see as many schools as he can.

By Simmons...will be at the USC Rising Star Camp next week. Plans to camp at Louisville as well as make it back to OSU and UM in July. Says he grew up a fan of the Trojans. Also interested in Louisville because of Coach English.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Top Gun Showcase: Sunday Hot 11
Quote:
MARVIN ROBINSON
6-1, 190, LB Eagle Lake (Fla.) Lake Region
Robinson admits he didn't have the best outing earlier this summer at the USC Rising Star Camp. Along with being injured, he just couldn't get in the zone. But he was there on Sunday, making big play after big play in drills and then in one-on-one battles. He was the one guy who was consistently able to hang with both the physical and speedy backs in the camp.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Top Gun: Linebacker/D-Back evaluations
Quote:
MARVIN ROBINSON
6-2, 205, OLB Eagle Lake (FL) Lake Region 2010
Assets: Has a tremendous burst and excellent ball skills.
What was most impressive at camp: For a guy who is making the change from safety to linebacker, he sure looked a natural.
Areas for improvement: He just needs to get reps at his new position because all the tools are there.
On the Hoof: Has good height, long arms and wide shoulders. Robinson's frame will fill out and enable him to play all three linebacker positions.
