Defensive tackle Dannell Smith (Newark, Ohio) might also be in Ann Arbor this weekend. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Smith is one of the most talented defensive linemen in the Buckeye State. If he takes care of everything academically, Smith should have some very good options.

Smith says Ohio State, Illinois and possibly Michigan are the schools he is thinking most about at this time. He attended an Ohio State game a few weeks ago and the Indiana at Illinois game this past weekend.

"It was nice up there," Smith said. "I'm sending Illinois a film [Wednesday]. I liked their coaching staff. All the coaches came into the recruiting area and talked to the players. They are young and down to earth."

Smith might get a look at Michigan Saturday.

"I might go up to the Michigan-Michigan State game," he said. "My mom wants me to go to that game. I'm going to call there and see."
