Ohio State Buckeyes football recruit Michael Brewster is committed to OSU and to bulking up the 2008 class
Monday, July 16, 2007
Doug Lesmerises
Plain Dealer Reporter
Michael Brewster needs to organize his recruiting -- maybe hang a dry-erase board in his bedroom or set up an easel holding placards of his top targets in the living room.
He's not a coach, and he doesn't even live in Ohio, but Brewster makes so many phone calls and sends so many text messages on be half of Ohio State, he's losing track.
"I'm probably going to start writing stuff down," Brewster said by phone re cently from his home in Orlando, Fla. "There aren't a ton of guys, but probably 10 or 15 I check up on."

Gives updates on how recruiting is going (mentions Pryor, Jenkins, Mobley, Goebel, etc). Talks about his upcoming season in high school and him visiting for the Wisconsin game.
It's been said a million times over but it's hard not to LOVE this kid if you are a Buckeye fan. I loved his comment about Koger and how PC it was stated.

This guy is a tremendous player in his own right but he continues to help us big time when it comes to the recruitment of other big time players. Glad he chose OSU that's for sure. Keep up the great work Mr. Brewster. This guy is a true leader.

A special desk arrived in a first grade classroom at Lake Highland 11 years ago.
Michael Brewster's legs were too long, so he needed a bigger desk than the other kids.
"When you went to open house you'd see the desk move to second grade, then to third grade," said Kathy Brewster, Michael's mother, smiling. "They would accommodate him."

Orlando Sentinel - More on Brewster by Tania Ganguli
Quote:
Brewster comes from a very supportive family of four -- all of whom joined Buckeye Nation as soon as he committed. His older brother, Billy, transfered to Ohio State from Florida State and will be a sophomore this year. His parents, Bill and Kathy, hung a Buckeye flag outside their house, put Buckeye stickers on their cars and stocked up on Buckeye apparell.
Kathy Brewster's ringtone is the Ohio State fight song. According to Brewster, it's the same as the Edgewater fight song.

Sometimes these non-district high school football games in August mean little more than preseason games.
Not tonight.
That rumble you hear is the Edgewater running game, advancing steadily like a disciplined army.
That flash you see is the glint of light that hits Dr. Phillips' helmets as the players wearing them dash around the spread offense, daring their opponents to catch them.
"We won't know who the best team is until the end of the year," Apopka Coach Rick Darlington said. "But for the preseason, they'd certainly be No. 1 and 2."
Tonight at 7, the Central Florida high school football season will begin with a flourish at Edgewater High School. Two of the area's top teams will begin their seasons against each other.

Making of the Brew Crew part 3b...Mike talks about each of the verbals' personality and talks a little about some of the guys they haven't landed (i.e. Zordich). Also talks about how he handles coaches who still want to contact him.
