Quote:
Class of 2010 ESPNU150 watch list receiver Tony Creecy (Durham, N.C./Southern Durham) is claiming multiple scholarship offers, plenty of interest and an early favorite.

The 5-foot-11, 193-pounder caught 48 passes for 853 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior and currently claims offers from North Carolina, Duke, North Carolina State, Stanford, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Virginia and Florida State.

Creecy and his family were Tar Heels fans growing up, but another in-state school currently has the early lead for his services.

"Ever since I started being recruited, North Carolina State has been recruiting me hard," he said. "They are now the top choice."

Creecy will make the short drive over to Raleigh this weekend for the Wolfpack's Junior Day event. Last weekend, he attended Duke's Junior Day.

"I want to go to a school that has plenty of returning players," he said. "I want a program that has a good quarterback, good receivers and a good coaching staff. Also, I want to go somewhere I can get a good education in case I don't go to the NFL I need something to fall back on."

In addition to the programs that he claims offers from, Creecy likes Florida, Oklahoma and Oregon.

Creecy also runs the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay in track and plays basketball.

Top 2010 Creecy looking to stay close to home
Despite already holding close to 15 offers from the likes of Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee and others, it maybe tough to pull Durham (N.C.) Southern athlete Anthony Creecy out-of-state, as the 6-0, 195 pounder says that a huge factor for him when it comes to picking a college will be staying close to his father Anthony Sr, ESPN's Brian Stumpf reports.

The younger Creecy currently lists all instate schools in his top five - N.C. State, North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest and East Carolina - and all five are amongst his early offers.

Creecy had 873 yards and five touchdowns receiving last fall and will attend the May 3rd Nike Camp at Virginia.
