I agree with you, however I think Hageman will wait to see how Minnesota's season comes to fruition before he's completely sold. He was somewhat skeptical about how much the Gophers had actually improved during the weak OOC slate, but the win over Indiana, coupled will the Badger's last two losses; has turned the program direction momentum in his mind. Minnesota needs to win a couple more or see Wisconsin lose a couple more to finish the job. Their invisible magic number is around 2-3.

Says he had a great visit to OSU and thinks he could see the field as a freshman. Uses the analogy of he and Pryor as similar to an early Shaq and Kobe.

ESPN - Midwest Recruiting Blog
Quote:
Two key Ohio State recruiting targets were making their official visit to Ohio State over the weekend. Tight end Ra'Shede Hageman (Minneapolis/Washburn) and wide receiver Marlon Brown (Memphis, Tenn./Harding) are two outstanding talents who could be great targets for freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor the next few seasons.
It was no coincidence that Pryor played player/host to the two.
"He was being real with me," Hageman said of Pryor. "He said if I played for Ohio State he would definitely throw me the ball. I look at it like it would be like Shaq and Kobe in the early days."
Hageman has made official visits to Ohio State and Wisconsin. He has a visit scheduled to Minnesota the weekend of Nov. 8 when the Gophers host Michigan and plans to schedule a trip to Florida.
Hageman was very impressed with his Ohio State visit, though he is not ready to declare the Buckeyes his leader.
"I have to look at where everyone stands," he said. "It's hard to say who leads. I have to finish my visits."

Shede enjoyed his visit and hanging out with the players. He says he spoke directly with JT about the TE usage.

Millers win minus their star player
Quote:
Standout tight end Ra'Shede Hageman missed Wednesday's victory because he was suspended after an incident at school Monday.
By DAVID LA VAQUE, Star Tribune
Last update: October 16, 2008 - 1:59 AM
Talk before the Twin Cities Game, the annual matchup of conference champions from Minneapolis and St. Paul, was all about the big man not on campus.
Ra'Shede Hageman, standout tight end at Minneapolis Washburn, missed Wednesday's 22-6 victory at St. Paul Central because he was suspended from school. Washburn activities director Daniel Pratt said Hageman was suspended because of an incident at school Monday.
Washburn coach Peter Haugen said Hageman will be back for the playoffs next week.
Hageman's size (6-6, 262 pounds) and skill (11 touchdowns) were missed by the Millers offense, which made fewer big plays than usual.

Would have been shocked if he hadn't committed on his visit, he's been a Gopher lock since he took Ohio State off of his list. I can't see why a tight end wouldn't want to play for Brewster. It's offense that's suited for the TE to be able to do big things and playing for a great coach for the TE position.

Says he wanted to be a part of the Minnesota program all along and that the decision was pretty easy.

Jack Simmons is a good pass catcher, but not very good at blocking. He is 3rd on the team in catches, but he is a SR. Nick Tow-Arnett is his backup, he is 5th on the team in receptions and is a Jr. Eric Lair is a nice looking freshman, and in this class they have Hageman now. Rengel and Gregory-McGhee are two verbals that are listed as athletes, both have played TE in college but may end up DE.

They don't have a whole lot of TE right now, but they do get plenty of opportunities in the offens they run. With Eric Lair being one of the early targets last year, and adding Nick Rengel after camp, and Hageman they should have the talent for TE to have a large impace on the offense in the future.
