Terry picked up early offers from Illinois, Minnesota, and Vanderbilt. Right now, he does not see himself going far from home and Illinois is very appealing.

WholeHogSports.com - RECRUITING : Arkansas working to add to its stockpile of receivers
Quote:
“The recruiting is going good,” Hawthorne said. “My favorites are Illinois, Arkansas, Arizona, Missouri and Kansas State.” Hawthorne said Arkansas has offered him a scholarship and the hiring of Petrino piqued his interest in the Razorbacks.
“I like that Arkansas’ coach has been in the NFL,” Hawthorne said. “So has several of his assistants. I feel if I went to Arkansas and did a good job they could help me maybe get to the next level. It sounds like it would be a good relationship if I went to Arkansas.” While Rivals has placed Hawthorne in its Top 250 players in the nation, Hawthorne said he’s still working hard to improve before he gets to college.
“I feel I do pretty good in all areas, but I do need to work on getting off the line of scrimmage,” Hawthorne said. “I also am working on my cuts while running routes.” Hawthorne said Illinois is the only school on his list he has been to so far for an unofficial visit. He plans on making a trip to Arkansas this summer to check out the campus, facilities and academics.
“I have about six or seven offers right now,” Hawthorne said. “After my season, I will probably make a decision then. I want to take some official visits before I decide, but I don’t think I will be able to take them during the season.”

WholeHogSports.com - THE RECRUITING GUY : ‘Big back’ knows Hogs interested
Quote:
Arkansas is also looking in the St. Louis area for help at wide receiver, and Terry Hawthorne of East St. Louis (Ill. ) is interested in the Razorbacks. Hawthorne, 6-1, 185, 4. 49, had 62 receptions for 1, 152 yards and 18 touchdowns his junior year. He said he has offers from Arkansas, Arizona, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, Ohio State and Notre Dame. Hawthorne attended Illinois’ football camp Saturday and hopes to make three others camps, including the one at Arkansas.
“I’m going to try and make Arkansas, Arizona and Oklahoma camps,” Hawthrone said. “They [the Razorbacks ] are in my top five.” Hawthorne said he grew up being an Ohio State fan, but the Buckeyes are recruiting him as a safety and he wants to play on offense. He said he plans to take all five of his official visits, with some being during and after his season.
Lemming said Arkansas is in contention for one of the best in the country.
“Hawthorne is one of the premier wide receivers in the nation,” Lemming said. “He’s a go-to guy. A great punt returner. He’s exceptional out in space once he catches the ball, great moves. He’s a guy that could end up in the NFL in four years. He got those types of tools.”
