One day after getting lineman Matt Carufel, the Gophers added athlete Terrell Combs to their 2008 commitment list

Just one night after obtaining a big commitment from former Cretin-Derham Hall offensive lineman Matt Carufel, the Gophers added another verbal commitment in highly recruited Terrell Combs, according to GopherIllustrated.com.

Combs is listed as an athlete, but is projected by many with his 6-foot, 2-inch, 252-pound size to play linebacker or defensive line in the college level.

Although he is ranked as only a two-star prospect on GopherIllustrated.com, Combs has received some very impressive offers recently in West Virginia, Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue. "Yeah, I did it! I committed to the University of Minnesota tonight," Combs said to Zach Johnson of GopherIllustrated.com. "I decided to go ahead and commit because I really feel comfortable with the Gopher staff and Minnesota just feels like home. I really love the staff at Minnesota and I have a great relationship with Coach Tim Brewster and Coach Tim Cross."

Very nice pickup for Minnesota. Brewster cannot coach, but it appears that he can recruit fairly well.

"I didn't think it was a big deal, the de-commitment," former Gopher verbal David Gilreath said. "I think this was the best decision of my life."

"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."
