The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Johnson received an offer from Wisconsin last week, according to River Hill assistant coach Til Campanaro.
"I was real excited," Johnson said of his first offer. "I didn't really belive it at first, but now I know all my hard work paid off. Now I'm just trying to get more.”
Johnson is being recruited by Wisconsin defensive back coach Kerry Cooks.
"He [Cooks] said I had great hips and I'm physical for my size," Johnson said. "They said they want me to get my weight up a little bit."
The Wisconsin offer somewhat changes Johnson's spring plans. Now the junior will make a point to visit the Madison campus. Johnson said he also plans to visit Wake Forest this spring. Johnson will also attend the Nike Penn State Camp in Charlottesville (Va.).

Has seven offers, including WVA, Minnesota, UW, and Syracuse. Favors Wisconsin for now, but plans on visiting elsewhere to try and earn more offers.

"I didn't think it was a big deal, the de-commitment," former Gopher verbal David Gilreath said. "I think this was the best decision of my life."
"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."

Returned from his Wake visit with an offer. Wake is his "number one school". Will camp at UConn and visit Wisconsin before he decides. Also plans to keep putting on weight
