SportingNews.com - The Recruitnik - Texas Tech lands two more commitments
Quote:
Texas Tech added its 16th and 17th commitments of the year, Rivals.com reported. Austin (Texas) Johnson LB/DL Kerry Hyder and Denton (Texas) Ryan DB Yahshua Williams committed to the Red Raiders after weekend visits to the school. Hyder is 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, while Williams is 6-foot-3, 185 pounds.
Hyder also reported scholarship offers from Utah, Cincinnati and Minnesota, and had taken an official visit to Iowa State earlier this month. Williams reported offers from Kansas, Nebraska, Utah, Wake Forest and Southern Miss.
Hyder finished with 153 tackles as a junior, while Williams had 45 tackles and broke up eight passes last year.
"I decided to commit Sunday morning," Williams told Rivals.com. "We had breakfast, and had a chit-chat with my parents and Coach (Carlos) Mainord. It just felt right. Texas Tech is where I wanted to be, so I felt like I should commit. I had planned to commit around midseason to begin with, but I didn't want to drag this thing out and worry about losing a spot. They're filling up pretty quick."
