USC will be one of the summer attractions for DB Frank Crawford (6-1 170) of Miami. Crawford said he plans to make a summer stop in Columbia. He also plans to see Ole Miss, Alabama and South Florida. He also has offers from Minnesota, Michigan State, Iowa State, Syracuse and Duke. He's also hearing from Clemson, Ohio State, Auburn and Miami. Crawford said he's keeping in touch with the Gamecocks. "I talk regularly with coach (Robert) Gillespie," Crawford said. "They like me a lot. I like every school that's offered me a scholarship." Crawford said he does not have favorites. Last season Crawford totaled 55 tackles with 6 interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. He plays free safety, cornerback and receiver.

By A Bone. Frank is down to Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina, FSU, Minnesota and USF. He will take official visits this fall and will be looking to see how he fits in with the staff, how the academics are and how quickly he can see the field.

Gulliver's Crawford getting a lot of interest - 08/11/2008 - MiamiHerald.com

Miami Herald Writer
After a season that ended with much disappointment, Gulliver senior safety Frank Crawford said the key to erasing last season's short comings can be summed up in two words: Extra work.
''We didn't like the way things ended for us last year,'' Crawford said. ``We're trying to be the best team in the state, and we know what it's going to take to be that; playing hard, playing smart and working extra hard.''
The 6-foot, 180-pound Crawford will be looking to improve on the 40 tackles and six interceptions he totaled in his junior season. That performance was enough to land Crawford scholarship offers from Minnesota, South Carolina, South Florida and Florida State.
RECRUITING FRENZY
Aside from the four offers Crawford confirmed as his top choices, Crawford says that many other schools are contacting him on a daily basis.
''The recruiting stuff is really crazy,'' Crawford said.
''I get at least three letters and five phone calls every day. A lot of coaches calling me and telling me about how good I would fit in with their team and how much I would like their school,'' Crawford said. ``It's hard to keep up with sometimes, but I know that this is the best time of my life so I'm enjoying it the best I can''
Other schools that have shown major interest, but haven't made official offers are Penn State, Michigan State, Ohio State and Michigan.

DB Frank Crawford (6-1 170) of Miami, FL played Saturday in his high school's first game of the season and had a strong performance. Crawford had two interceptions as his team won 34-6. Crawford has narrowed his list to five. He likes USC, USF, FSU, Ole Miss and Minnesota. Coach Robert Gillespie is his USC recruiter and Crawford says they speak often. He likes the attention he is receiving from the Gamecock coaching staff. "They think I'm a good player and they want me to come there. I'm going to call Coach Gillespie and set up an official visit. I want to get up there and learn more about the school." He also will take an official visit to Ole Miss. Crawford says USC is recruiting him to play free safety He runs a 4.5 40 and has not set a timetable for his commitment.
