Redshirted this year.
Apparently, he could see some PT this year. Might crack the two-deep and has an outside shot at being a starter by season's end.

TheWolverine.com - Spring at the halfway point: Wolverines on the rise
Quote:

Among Michigan's redshirt freshmen, Omameh was the top one to watch entering spring practice. He's done nothing to disappoint. After starting off with the No. 2 unit in the first week, he quickly moved up to the first unit as the starting right tackle, with redshirt junior Steve Schilling moving inside to guard. From watching individual drills, it is clear few OL teammates possess the natural athletic ability he does. He's done everything according to plan so far and is in position to start next fall.

Competition on Michigan offensive line gets hot | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press

Patrick Omameh and Ricky Barnum, who were redshirted last year, also are working into the mix.
|
Quote:
That versatility is key to this lineup, especially with a strong competition at right tackle.
"It's been a battle," Rodriguez said. "Pat Omameh has been there, Perry Dorrestein's played on both sides, Schilling can get all of it, but the guy that has had a pretty good spring is Mark Huyge. He's played guard, he's played on the left side and the right side and he's practicing like he wants to take that job. It's going to be wide open. The competition will continue in August."
