Kurt Wermers
Solid prospect. Moves well for big guy, especially well pulling! Does need to learn to bend his knees and play with leverage.

I like that review of him from Scout and all, but Kurt isn't 6'5", 260 pounds.
A little over two months ago at the West Lafayette Nike camp (May 5th, 2007 to be exact) he was measured in his shorts and socks at 6'3", 278 pounds.

By S. Robertson. Wermers says that he was never really concerned with who would replaced Carr, and was always solid with Michigan. He says that his time at the O/D AA game this week has shown him what he needs to work on, and has also shown him what playing at the next level is going to be like.

U-M's Rodriguez: Grady's status with team uncertain | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press
Quote:
|
Rodriguez confirmed offensive lineman Kurt Wermers is no longer with the program and said there are a few other players who may not be either after he meets with them. "Guys that maybe are not doing all of their responsibilities and the things they're supposed to do to be part of our football program may not be back," Rodriguez said.

Sources: Transferring Michigan Wolverines lineman Kurt Wermers was ineligible - ESPN
Quote:

Former Michigan offensive lineman Kurt Wermers was academically ineligible when he announced his transfer to Ball State last week, sources told ESPN.com.

Further in the article...

But according to sources with knowledge of the situation, Wermers was already out.
His academic struggles would have prevented him from suiting up with the Wolverines. Wermers wasn't even enrolled in summer school at the time of his departure.
