Justin loved his visit to Columbus and watched the second half of the game in Coach Tressel's office. He says he does not have any favorites and JT told him to take his time.

The Michigan Wolverines have secured their second verbal commitment for the 2009 football class, and they had to beat out the only two Big Ten teams who went to more prestigious bowls last year to do it.
Massillon, Ohio defensive back Justin Turner committed to the Wolverines over Ohio State and Illinois, according to Rivals.com, which lists him as a 4-star prospect and the #42 overall player in the country.
According to rivals.com, Turner's parents were split as his mother is an Ohio State fan while his father follows the Wolverines. But he considered himself a Michigan fan growing up and was happy to get the decision out of the way early in order to focus on his senior year in high school.

Headliner: Justin Turner, S, Massillon (Ohio) Washington
Turner was definitely the headliner in an event that was loaded with talent. While other stud recruits like John Simon and Jack Mewhort were there, it was Turner that looked amazing in Akron. Turner measured in at 6-foot-2 and 186 pounds. Seeing how much he's grown physically made it clear that he's got the frame to be an elite prospect. Just a few weeks after the event he committed to Michigan.

Justin Turner, verbally committed to Michigan and Massillon's most experienced player, finished with 140 yards on 22 carries. He gained 116 of them in the second half.
|
Quote:
After Buchtel returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown, Massillon then scored 21 unanswered points. Turner did most of the damage on the first drive. The Tigers went 67 yards in six plays, and Turner gained 57.
"The only reason the play-action works is because JT's busting them for 7, 8 yards and hits them for 20," Clark said. "That keeps them honest. Everybody is involved in this. This is a team thing."

Defensive back Justin Turner (Massillon, Ohio/Washington) committed to Michigan during the spring. It has been a difficult first season in Ann Arbor for Wolverine boss Rich Rodriguez, but that does not have Turner second guessing his decision. Turner said he is still being recruited by Illinois, but he is not planning an official visit there. His Michigan official visit will be sometime in December.

6-2/186, Massillon (Ohio) Washington
During individual position work, Turner was snagging footballs out the air like a gold glove center fielder. Even though he looks physically like a safety, he is playing cornerback. He has good hips and change of direction to go along with his uncanny ability to adjust to the ball in the air. Look for Turner to get a shot at both corner and free safety at Michigan, as well as being a member of all special teams minus extra point and field goal teams.

A real safety at Michigan? What is this world coming to?

Added Lichtenfels of Turner, from Massillon, Ohio: "He's a guy from day one that I lobbied for as one of the top four or five safeties in the nation. I actually think after watching him this week that he can play corner. His skill set is just (unique). He can play safety, he's great in coverage, and he'll come up and he'll hit you. He could play cover corner in the Big Ten easily. Every coach in the country wants a guy that's 6-2 and can cover."

This just in. Justin Turner is good.
