The Nittany Lions have not offered a scholarship to defensive end Kenny Wilkins from Washington (Pa.) Trinity. It remains to be seen if they will.
“I talked to Coach (Tom) Bradley a couple weeks ago,” Wilkins said. “He came to my school. I kind of felt like an offer was coming. Penn State and Ohio State haven’t offered yet, but both of them are still possibilities.”
Wilkins has over two-dozen scholarship offers, including several recent additions.
“Connecticut was my 27th offer,” Wilkins said. “It came last Friday. They said they liked my film and wanted to offer me.”

An Interview With Ken Wilkins | mgoblog
Quote:
TOM: Do you already have a good idea of a top 3?
KEN: I don’t really have a top list, but Michigan and Pitt are near top. Michigan was always my favorite team growing up. Coach Gibson has been coming in lately, and I’ve been getting to know him. I also have a good relationship with the Pitt coaches.
TOM: Where does Michigan factor into all this, are they near the top, or at the top?
KEN: If I had to name a leader I would say it is Michigan. Once I go up there, if I like it I’ll pull the trigger and commit. I’m talking to my uncle about it, and I think I’ll be up there in about two weeks. I think I fit what they’re trying to do right now, and the coaches that I do know are all great. Everything about Michigan is great, and I could definitely see myself there.

What was this Scout being Scout, and trying to make a story out of nothing again? Haha.
Anyway, Glad Ken is making it up to AA this weekend. He would be a good pickup for UM if he commits.

GBW added a tidbit to the last link. Wilkins will either announce this Wednesday or next Wednesday.

Ken Wilkins will announce his college choice next Tuesday at noon. It sounds like he wants to have his moment to let us know who it is, so I think we should let him have it.

Class of 2010
Pennsylvania’s Top Seniors
By Chris Dokish
For those of you who follow our yearly rankings, you may have noticed that the Top 50 has become the Top 25. The reason for this is because of the lack of depth in the state. It's become more difficult to find 50 prospects yearly that are at a high-major level. For that reason, we have decided to just report on the very best the state has to offer.
While the depth is not what it used to be in a state that has seen its population plunge over the last few decades, there is still some excellent talent out there. You may notice, however, that there are really only two prospects who received attention from the high level programs around the country. This is a significant drop from past seasons.
Lastly, as we always try to do, we do our best to leave out "scout talk," hyperbole and biases. We try to speak as bluntly, and accurately, as possible, while still remembering that these are high school kids we're talking about.

15. Ken Wilkins, Trinity HS (Washington) LB/DE- Lean, 6'3" 225 pounder with a good physique, though he will need to get even stronger at the next level. He has good speed and athleticism. Many schools are looking at him as a linebacker, but he may ultimately be too stiff there, so there's a good chance that if he can gain the weight, he will eventually end up at end. Pitt, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland currently lead, and all have offered. Other offers include Wisconsin, Boston College, North Carolina, NC State, Illinois and Rutgers. Bottom line- Looks better in combines than on film, but he is a good athlete that could prosper in the right conditions.
