Ricardo Miller isn’t the only big time 2010 wide receiver prospect from Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips High School. There’s another standout junior named Kenny Shaw. Shaw, 6-1 and 170 pounds, had six receptions for 72 yards and one score in their win over Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater last weekend.

“They can’t double both of us,” Shaw said. “We see a lot of zone defenses. While Ricardo may have that great speed, I am that elusive receiver with good hands. I run pretty good routes too.”

So far with recruiting Shaw has (verbal) offers from USF, UCF and UCLA.

“Supposedly Florida is going to offer me next week. I like the SEC and would love to play in that conference. I like teams like Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, and Florida. I also like schools like Illinois, USF and UCF.

“Ricardo and I would love to play together but he likes those northern schools.”

Shaw was in attendance in Gainesville last weekend for the Florida/Miami game. He doesn’t think he will attend any games this weekend. Dr. Phillips has another big game on Friday. This time they take on a very good and talented Niceville (Fla.) team.

Dr. Phillips receiver Kenny Shaw said Tuesday that he and former Panthers teammate Ricardo Miller – who is playing his senior high school season in Michigan – might reunite on a recruiting trip to UCLA sometime this fall.

"I'm thinking about maybe taking a California trip with my boy, Ricardo, to visit UCLA," Shaw said Tuesday.

That might be news to Michigan, which got an oral commitment from Miller way back in September of 2008.

Miller (6-2/210) left DP to move to Ann Arbor late in the summer. He plays for Pioneer High (6-1), which sits right across the street from the Michigan campus. Miller has 13 catches for 275 yards and has scored six touchdowns.

Shaw, who has 16 catches for 246 yards and three TDs despite missing time to an injury for DP (6-0), has a Nov. 14 visit set to Georgia but said he is still deciding and arranging other trips. He also wants to visit Alabama and Tennessee.
