Tulsa East Central defensive tackle Pearlie Graves is being pursued by several top programs, including Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Michigan, Arkansas and LSU. The 6-3, 260-pounder claims offers from OU, Michigan, LSU, Texas Tech and Kansas State.

Oklahoma is high on Graves' list thanks to a good relationship with defensive line coach Jackie Shipp.

"I can see myself playing for OU,” said Graves, who scored a 17 on his first ACT test and has a 2.7 GPA. "I like the coaches, they're about business down there. Coach Shipp has helped me and told me what I need to do to go Division I.”

Oklahoma State has a shot at Graves thanks to its proximity to Tulsa.

"They have nice facilities, and the campus is nice,” said Graves, who has visited both schools. "It wouldn't be too far away from home.”

Asked which in-state school he favors over the other, Graves said. "Right now, I'm favoring OU.”

Michigan and LSU are among the elite college football programs in pursuit of Graves, an 2007 Oklahoman All-State member.

"I sat down with my uncle to talk about Michigan and LSU,” the senior-to-be said. "We're going to go (to both schools), see about the program and go from there.”

Graves expects to visit Michigan and LSU sometime before school starts and likely will make his decision before high school playoffs begin in November.

From the Okie State site. Graves coachs says that Oklahoma State has offered joining Oklahoma, Michigan, Texas Tech and Kansas State. He says the best thing about Pearlie is his combo of size and speed.

Great pickup for the blue. The d-line is starting to look like something amazing.

Yup. I wonder if all the naysayers are still saying Rodriguez neglects the lines. Graves, Jones, Roh, LaLota, possiby Campbell. That's a healthy DL.
