Spartanburg Athlete Not Getting Local Love

ATH Cornelius Jones (6-2 185) may be headed to the Big Ten for his college football career. "Michigan is probably my top school," said Jones who has been offered by the Wolverines along with Duke, Wake Forest and Stanford. He's also hearing from North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Virginia. As for Clemson and USC, he went to junior day at both schools but hasn't heard from either since then. He says he did talk to some Clemson coaches while at junior day but didn't get a chance to talk with any Gamecock coaches while on that visit. Jones has not taken any other visits but he plans to visit Michigan this summer. He is being recruited as an athlete. He plays quarterback for the Vikings.

Spartanburg quarterback Conelius Jones sprinted onto the sidelines a few minutes after the Vikings had already begun their 7-on-7 game against Olive Branch (Miss.) during the Palmetto State Showdown on Thursday.

But, his head coach, Freddie Brown was not upset about his senior

Cornelius Jones threw 15 passes, completing 10 for 225 yards. He tossed a 59-yard touchdown to Mykelle Jones and a 75-yarder to Arland Woodruff. Cornelius Jones scored on a 7-yard run in the first quarter and put the game away with a 64-yard TD sprint in the fourth quarter after the lead had been shaved to seven.
