The Recruiting Guy
Quote:
Highly regarded Louisiana linebacker Barkevious Mingo of West Monroe said earlier this week that he is up to 24 scholarship offers, including one from the Razorbacks.
Mingo, 6-5, 210, 4.6, said he’s had phone issues and hasn’t talked to many schools recently, including Arkansas, but is still receiving mail from the Hogs.
“It’s pretty good school and it’s close to home,” Mingo said.
Mingo said he hasn’t registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse but was in the process of doing that so he could take official visits. He mentioned he did have interest in taking a trip to Arkansas.
Mingo named his priorities in choosing a school.
“If I had to put them in order, I would say playing time is last and distance away from home would be second and academics would be first,” said Mingo, who recorded 55 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, and 6 sacks last year.
He said he doesn’t have any visits lined up yet.
