I figured Syracuse would be on his list, considering they made him and Trey some of their top priorities...

Seems odd that college coaches would worry about textbook size. There are too many instances where LBs who are undersized have gone on to do well in the NFL. If he has the speed, then he can play Div 1 ball. Ray Lewis, Zack Thomas and London Fletcher seem to be doing well. IMO - MSU needs to sign players, not measurements.

ESPN - Recruiting coast-to-coast: Ohio defense - Insider
Quote:
Under the Radar Player
Steve Gardiner, Linebacker
Coffman (Dublin, Ohio)
Considering: Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Northwestern, Ohio State, Michigan State
Dublin-Coffman High School has proven it can produce some excellent football talent, as the home of 2007 first-round draft pick QB Brady Quinn and also where ESPN 150 prospects offensive lineman Mike Adams and tight end Jake Stoneburner play.
Beyond the spotlight is Gardiner, another fine prospect. On Recruiting Insider on ESPNU, we cover different under the radar players for each position, and when we covered linebackers, Gardiner was an obvious choice.

"I'm not taking any official visits until after the season," Steve Gardiner said. "I plan to set up the trips soon though. I've been really busy with football and now that our playoffs have started we're going to be playing on Saturdays, so it's hard to schedule official trips." From the offering schools, West Virginia and Pittsburgh lead solidly over Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati.
