By Sean Fitz. NC State has offered, joining Pitt....Kevin has taken unofficial visits to PSU, Pitt, Michigan and would definitely like to get out to NC State this summer. Talks extensively about his numerous visits to PSU, camping at UM, and visiting Pitt for the ND game.....academics will be Kevin's number one priority and he talks about not being sold on PSU just because his father played at PSU or because he grew up in a PSU household.

Recruiting Roundup: Baptism by fire -
Quote:
Penn State target Kevin Reihner said his introduction to football was a "baptism by fire."
In seventh grade, the junior offensive tackle practiced with Kingston (Pa.) Wyoming Seminary — a high school. One senior was 20 years old. He was 13.
"You can tell it like a horror story, but I really wouldn't change it," said the prospect out of Scranton (Pa.) Prep. "I didn't develop any bad habits."
Reihner played one year of organized football when he was 7. He had to wait until seventh grade to pick the sport up again because he couldn't participate in the local Midget leagues, which have weight restrictions.
In eighth grade, Reihner said Wyoming Seminary was flirting with placing him on the varsity high school squad. If it wouldn't have caused eligibility issues later in his career, he would have considered making the move.
"The first day, they treated me like a seventh-grader and kind of kept me away, but I worked my way up," said the 6-foot-3, 275-pound Reihner. "I hated watching practice more than getting beat in practice. And every day, they would get mad when I would get the best of them, and they would try to put me in my place.
"But it was really fun. I keep in touch with a lot of those guys."
