Ohio State Rivals - 07/19/07
Ohio State Scout - 07/19/07
In both articles, Jerel discusses his interest in Ohio State (not offered).
Normally, I wouldn't put too much stock in an article about a local "two-star" prospect who wants to attend Ohio State, but when two such articles appear on the same day, then maybe something is afoot....

He's exactly what MD needs to build his D-Line. This is the type of player that the MSU recruiting staff must get in order to build the program back up.

Worthy would be huge for the new staff IMO.

Anyone would be huge at this point for MSU. It's been a while since our last commit.

Imagine a line in a few years that includes Worthy and Jeremiah...add Jones and Rucker from last year and you can say MD has done an excellent job working Ohio.

I agree, but he could honestly be doing better in the recruiting end of his job. I'm not worried right now, nor mad, as I know it will take another year or so for recruiting to really pick up.

I like the way the MSU D-Line is shaping up. M. Jordan, A. Jeremiah (sp) R Wheat and T, Anderson should be excellent in 2008. This year is all about gaining experience. We need to find a Rush-DE who can help protect the secondary.
Gordon and Jones could make for an excellent LB crew.
Worthy looks to be a good fit and we could use the size up front. Without it, OSU, Mich and Wisky will run the ball down our throat.

Does anyone know if MSU has recruited kids from Huber Hts in the past ?
I'm thinking that the key to Worthy is getting his coaching staff comfortable with the MSU coaching staff. Worthy is the type of player that MD should help swing in MSU's favor over outside schools like a Nebs or Mizzo.
I hope we can get him on campus for the first or second game. It would be nice to get him on board before the season gets into full swing and MD has less time to chat with recruits.

From the Wisconsin site...Louisville, NC State, Ohio State, West Virginia and Wisconsin are waiting to see senior film. Seems to favor Nebraska and Michigan State (both offered) but additional offers could change things.
