From the FSU site. Armstrong says that while he is open, Miami, Florida State, Florida, and LSU are recruiting him the hardest. He had a good visit to Florida State, and adds that it helped their standing with him.

USC Going After Florida ATH

ATH Ray Ray Armstrong (6-4 215) of Sanford, FL is a heavily recruited two position player with more than 20 offers including USC. Armstrong plays quarterback and safety and is being recruited for both positions. "I feel the same way for everybody," Armstrong said. "I like everybody." Armstrong said he hears a lot from USC recruiter John Hunt who will visit Armstrong's school next week. Armstrong visited Florida, Miami and Florida State for spring games. He also has offers from Southern Cal, Kentucky, Georgia, Purdue, LSU, Tennessee and Auburn among others. He has no favorites.

USC continues to keep tabs on ATH Ray Ray Armstrong (6-4 215) of Sanford, FL and was one of the schools to come thru his school this spring. "I talked to coach Hunt a couple of weeks ago," Armstrong said. "I don't have any favorites but I do have interest in South Carolina." Armstrong has over 20 offers including USC, Southern Cal, Miami, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Auburn. He said he wants to take some visits this summer but is not sure where, but they will be to out of state schools. He does not have any camp plans.

While not a household name on the recruiting trail, we think in terms of size and speed -- Ray Ray Armstrong (Sanford, Fla./Seminole) is perhaps the best overall athlete in this class. With more than 20 scholarship offers from some of the more prominent programs in the country, this 6-foot-4, 215-pound physical specimen is not a hidden gem, but we think he is in obscurity when compared to the rest of the headline names that make up our top 20.

Armstrong lines up anywhere on the field to create mismatches, including quarterback to put the ball in his hands on every snap, but will most likely grow into a disruptive outside linebacker or strong safety at the college level. He has excellent speed, range and smooth hips but remains strikingly explosive -- just ask opposing ball carriers when he is filling hard from his high-point safety position. What puts him into the elite category is the fact that he is still raw and has a high ceiling for development, particularly on defense.
