'11 NJ OL Angelo Mangiro (Official Offer)
Scout.com: Angelo Mangiro Profile
Angelo Mangiro - Yahoo! Sports
Offensive guard
Succasunna (NJ) Roxbury
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 290 pounds
Bench max: 310 pounds
Squat max: 440 pounds
Class: 2011 (High School)
Futures looking bright | dailyrecord.com | Daily Record
Quote:
Mangiro, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound man-child, has been starting on both sides of the ball for the Gaels for the last two years. He's been getting letters and brochures from all the major colleges even before he enrolled at Roxbury and is already the apple of every recruiter's eye, even though he's just entering his junior year.
"A lot of coaches already invited me out to their season openers," said Mangiro, whose older brothers Vinnie and Santino were products of the Roxbury football program as well. "I told them that I might if I could work it into my schedule. Right now, Roxbury football comes first."
Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano is already drooling at the prospects of landing the prospect Mangiro. Boston College, UCLA, Ohio State, Notre Dame and North Carolina State have already come calling.

Scout.com: Mangiro Talks Recruiting
10/14/09
By Bob Lichtenfels. Angelo currently has offers from RU, BC, Maryland, NC State, and UNC. Schools showing interest include PSU, ND, Miami (FL), UF, FSU, and USF. Likes ND's pro-style offense...campus stood out on his visit. RU isn't far from home and coach Greg Schiano is a nice guy....talks about two NJ products that stayed home....likes what RU teaches but he'd like to see them win more against bigger programs. PSU was first school to contact coaches when he was a freshman...has spoken with coach Dick Anderson and is excited about PSU's interest....PSU has tons of tradition....will visit for the PSU-Indiana game. Definitely visiting BC...has a high school coach that loved BC. Will take a big tour this spring and summer, so he'll visit many schools...mentions and talks about UNC, NC State, and Maryland also.

By Sean Fitz. RU, BC, Maryland, UNC, and NC State are the five schools that have officially offered Angelo. Right now his only planned trip is to PSU for the Indiana game....talks about his contact with PSU coach Dick Anderson every few weeks and says his coaches have told him about the large crowds. Angelo wants to visit BC and Maryland also, with both schools having already offered.....plans to visit many schools this spring.

By Tom Matthews. Focused on his high school season right now....BC, Maryland, UNC, NC State, and Rutgers have offered prior to even his junior year. Some other programs sending stuff are PSU, ND, UF, Miami (FL), FSU and Iowa....would like to limit himself to what would amount to a 6 hour car drive or 3 hour flight. Talks about getting everyones best and how it has been that way since 8th grade.

By Sean Fitz. Angelo says he really enjoyed his PSU visit and that it was cool being on the field and meeting coach Joe Paterno prior to the game....PSU coach Dick Anderson told him he was their top OLineman but that he'll have to wait for the offer. Angelo thinks the next trip may be BC, and thinks it would be cool to catch a bowl game.

By Tom Matthews. Angelo talks about the upcoming state sectional high school championship game and how he feels his play has been as a junior. Hasn't talked too much lately with BC, but is receiving lots of mail and has had contact with BC coach McGovern....definitely interested in BC and says BC is probably the next school he'll visit but he just isn't sure when that will happen. No favorites and has visited PSU, ND, and RU....really enjoyed the PSU trip.

By Sean Fitz. Connecticut and Temple have offered, and last week a coach from Ohio State came by the school and verbally offered....PSU coach Dick Anderson visited and told Angelo to be patient, PSU is finishing up their 2010 effort and he says he is fine with waiting.....says PSU was and is one of his favorite college teams and that he would like to get back to PSU.... had told Dick Anderson he would when invited for a basketball game but says it is hard with his own basketball schedule occupying six days a week....also looks to visit BC with one of his coaches, a BC graduate, as well as his father, just not sure when.
