From the Texas site. Michael says that Texas is still is favorite, and expects both LSU and Texas to be in this week. He will make his choice near the start of his senior season.

RECRUITING BUZZ Blog | The Dallas Morning News
Quote:
Jeff Tarpley of AggieYell.com tells me that Texas A&M has added two key oral commitments today from Beaumont Westbrook running back Christian Michael and Houston Clear Lake offensive lineman Stephen Barrera.
Michael is a big pickup. There are some recruiting experts who rank him as the top running back in the state. If nothing else, he is right there with Madisonville running back Chris Whaley, who committed to Texas last week.
Barrera is the third offensive lineman the Aggies have gotten a commitment from in the last three days. A&M also has commitments from Killeen's Rhontae Scales and and Klein Oak's Clint Naron.

Texas has stepped up its interest. Backed off his commitment to Texas A&M but is still interested in the Aggies.

From the Texas site. Michael says he has offers from Texas, Texas A&M and LSU, and that those three are his top three. He wants to run behind a fullback, which he says LSU and A&M do but Texas doesn't. He will decide before his senior season.

From the A&M site. Michael made it to the Top Gun camp in Florida, but was unable to make his scheduled visit to LSU due to staying in Florida an extra day. He plans to announce by the end of August and pretty much says he is down to LSU and Texas A&M.

ESPN - Sunshine State stocked with backs in the '09 class - Football Recruiting

Christine Michael (Beaumont, Texas/West Brook) is pressing for a top-five spot, and he is a back we are going to watch closely this fall for consideration. The Texas native is a very powerful, decisive, downhill runner. He can also beat defenses through the hole with his great initial burst. We love his sturdy body structure and great in-line strength needed to carry the load at the next level while providing the explosive burst to rip off a long run on any given carry.
