One of the top athletes in the Class of 2009 is Franklin-Simpson three-sport standout Courtney Dalcourt, who plays football, basketball and runs track.
The 6-foot, 195-pound Dalcourt excels in all three sports. But perhaps his best chance for a major Division I scholarship comes on the gridiron.
A quarterback, Dalcourt is already hearing from some major colleges and his recruiting process is only beginning.
"It's a lot of fun to go through right now," Dalcourt said. "Having college coaches call and all. I'm just looking now and seeing what schools I might want to visit."
Dalcourt has had coaches in from Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Duke, Vanderbilt, and Northwestern already visit the school. He's also hearing from South Carolina Auburn, Arkansas, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and he said last week he received his first letter from the Louisville coaches.
Being from Kentucky, Dalcourt said he's "just now coming around to being a Kentucky fan." He did note that his favorite team is "Florida in everything."
As a junior, Dalcourt passed for 1,486 yards and 12 touchdowns. He completed 114 of 200 passes and also rushed for 1,015 yards (6.9 yds per carry) and nine more TDs.
As a sophomore, he rushed for 1,011 yards and 11 TDs and passed for 819 yards. Both seasons the Wildcats had a 1,000-yard rusher on the team.
