The Louisville football team received some good news today, picking up a commitment from Los Fresnos (Texas) offensive lineman Mario Benavides.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Benavides had originally committed to Mississippi but visited U of L two weeks ago and on Saturday told Cardinalsports.com that he had informed Louisville coaches that he was changing his mind.

Benavides, who will likely play center or guard in college, is the eighth known commitment for the Cardinals in the Class of 2008.
