Bryan Station defensive end Roy Philon has already made one official visit - to Minnesota - and is now ready to get on with the rest of his recruiting process.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Philon, who was a member of The Courier-Journal's first-team All-State squad, will visit Louisville next weekend. He's also still talking with Western Kentucky, Central Michigan and Oklahoma.

"I'm looking for a place I can call home," Philon said. "I want a place where I feel like it's a good team and there are coaches that I can play for. The only visit I have made so far is Minnesota in mid-September. They have really been calling."

Philon is one of the state's prized prospects after being arguably the best senior in Lexington this season. Philon, who runs a 4.6-second 40-yard dash, played defensive end, defensive tackle and running back for the Defenders.
He made 52 tackles, including 14 for losses. Five of those were sacks, and he forced two fumbles and broke up two passes.

As a running back, Philon needed only 10 carries to amass 220 yards and seven touchdowns.

Indiana, Wake Forest, Tennessee Miami of Ohio are other schools that have inquired. He said there's a connection to Oklahoma and he's been talking to one of the Sooners' assistant coaches, waiting to see if they are seriously interested.

Minnesota and Central Michigan have made offers.
