"His sophomore year, he played safety and returned kicks and I looked at him like a future NFL defensive back," Highlands coach Dale Mueller said. "Last year, he played outside linebacker and wide receiver and I pictured him as a Wes Welker-type NFL wide receiver.

"Now, we're moving him to running back. We need to get the ball in his hands more than what we would be able to with him at wide receiver. He'll also play more safety and return kicks."

Mueller said he "absolutely thinks there's no question," that Collinsworth will be the leading candidate for Mr. Football honors.

As a junior, Collinsworth caught 47 passes for 840 yards and five touchdowns. He rushed 19 times for 176 yards and one score, while scoring five TDs on returns. He also intercepted four passes and returned one for a score.

On the recruiting front, Collinsworth holds offers from Louisville, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Stanford and Vanderbilt. He recently visited UCLA and is also looking at Tennessee.
