Dan Arnes (ARN-NIS) was brought up to the varsity as a sophomore and became a full-time starting defensive tackle for Stratford during the 3rd game of his sophomore season. Arnes started every game at defensive tackle in 2007. He also letters in wrestling and track.

Arnes is a rare sophomore starter for a team that has won three consecutive Division 6 state championships. This small school star is big and has a big-time future. He possesses a great frame and is surprisingly agile and athletic for a big guy. Also has pretty good strength, something he shows off by throwing the discus and shot put in track.
