More of the same...Riley loved the Nebraska atmosphere and has not yet told the Iowa staff of his change of heart.

I understand "kids" rethinking their commitment to school X, but to me this kind of speaks volumes of a athletes character if they are going to with draw from a verbal without notifying the affected coaches. There have been too many prospects that have played this game in the past few years. I realize that until they sign on the dotted line it is a "verbal" agreement. KF, has in the past and will more than likely do so here, will probably pull his offer to Riley. Common courtesy and respect are valued by KF.

Nebraska looked to be in the lead for Riley Reiff going into the spring game earlier this year only to have him commit to Iowa in the following days. Reiff has been staying in touch with Nebraska and is giving them another look.
One name that has recently popped back up for Nebraska fans is Riley Reiff. Reiff, an Iowa commitment, is a 6-foot-6 and 230-pound tight end/defensive end from Parkston (S.D.).
"Things are good and football is great," Reiff said. "We are 3-2 right now. I don't know what my stats are off the top of my head."

From the Nebraska site. Reiff's mom says he is still a verbal to Nebraska for now, but will not be talking with any more reporters and nothing more will be said about his recruitment until signing day. He recently took an official visit to Iowa.

Reiff recommits to the Hawkeyes
Defensive end Riley Reiff, who originally committed to Iowa in April, then switched to Nebraska in October, is back with the Hawkeyes, according to HawkeyeReport.com.
"I'm going to be a Hawkeye," Reiff told HawkeyeReport. "I just feel more comfortable at Iowa. I always got along with the coaching staff really well and when I went on my visit, everything just clicked."
Reiff, who is currently in wrestling season where he is looking for a fourth consecutive state title this year, says this is his final decision.
"It's done," Reiff said. "I canceled my visit to Nebraska. It's a done deal."
Reiff originally was the first player to commit to Iowa's recruiting class of 2008.

Hawkeye recruit leads eight officers on foot chase | press-citizen.com | Iowa City Press Citizen
Quote:
An Iowa football recruit from South Dakota was arrested early Saturday after allegedly leading eight Iowa City Police officers on a 20 minute foot chase, according to Iowa City Police complaints.
Riley Thomas Reiff, 19, of Parkston, S.D., faces the charges of public intoxication and interference with official acts. According to a police complaint: Officers responded to 10 S. Clinton St. at 2:45 a.m. Saturday because Reiff was said to be acting strangely in the alley. An officer approached him and attempted to speak with him to see if there was a problem, trying to convince Reiff not to run. Reiff ran into Pita Pit, knocking several trays onto the floor in the kitchen. Officers told Reiff several times to stop, but refused. After eight officers followed Reiff for 20 minutes, Reiff was apprehended. Reiff refused a blood-alcohol test. Reiff, a defensive end, was the first player to commit to Iowa’s recruiting class of 2008 in April 2007. He changed his commitment to Nebraska in October 2007 but came back to the Hawkeyes in December 2007. The 6’6’’, 250 pound to-be freshman was the South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior, made first team all-state defensive end as a sophomore and junior and first team all-state tight end as a senior. UI Athletics Director Gary Barta told the Des Moines Register in an e-mail that he was discouraged with the news. "(Football coach Kirk Ferentz) and his staff have worked extremely hard throughout the summer setting a tone and laying out expectations,” Barta wrote in an e-mail to the paper. “This makes Riley’s actions even more disturbing. Barta said Ferentz has worked hard on the off-the-field conduct of his athletes after having to deal with a slew of problems over the past year or so, and that Reiff's actions are not a sign of what fans will see out of the team this season.
