Class: 2010 (High School)

Sto-Rox High School in McKees Rocks is not known for producing D-1 talent, but that will change with rising junior quarterback PAUL JONES. The 6’2” 215 pound Jones already has good size, but that’s just the beginning of his many positive traits, both on and off the field.
“He has the strongest arm I’ve been around and I’ve been coaching for 21 years,” says Sto-Rox head coach John Ruscitto. “He can make all the throws a quarterback needs to make already. He can throw the deep out, but he also has the touch to throw a screen pass to the fullback.”
The humble Jones, who passed for 1,850 yards and 20 touchdowns last season, is clearly surprised by all of the sudden attention he gained after a strong summer camp season, but Ruscitto says his star has everything under control.
“He’s a quality person,” says Ruscitto. “A better person than a player and that’s saying something. He’s a great leader, very smart, very funny, comes from a great family, and is close to 90 percent in the classroom. He’s once in a lifetime.”

None of the rising juniors can receive written offers until September, but Jones and Carswell already have verbal offers from Pitt, where they both excelled at a recent summer camp, and Jones also has an offer from Cincinnati. There will be many more for both.
Jones claims to be wide open and when asked what he’s looking for in a college, he only says, “Education and where I can play the fastest.”
Jones and Carswell are friends and that also may come into play, according to Jones, who says, “Andrew and I are definitely going to play together in college.”

Beaver Falls' coming out party - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

Beaver advances with victory over Sto-Rox
Quote:
Sto-Rox had one final try to gain the equalizer, but the Vikings' attempt fell short when Paul Jones was sacked at his own 43 as time expired.
Jones, the WPIAL's second-leading passer and one of the top junior quarterbacks in the state, finished 8 of 20 for 223 yards (97 of those on one play) and one touchdown.
"Our game plan was to try to use our athletic skill to move the football, and I think we did move the football," Sto-Rox coach Jason Ruscitto said.
"We did score a lot of points, but unfortunately, they scored a bit more."
The Bobcats were able to do that as their offensive line pushed around the smaller Vikings' defensive front throughout the game, racking up 378 yards on the ground. They also did a commendable job of limiting Jones, who faced constant pressure and completed just 3 of 9 passes for 66 yards in the second half.
"We did enough, and I guess that's the important part," Beltz said.
"He's a tremendous football player, and I think we'll be proud to have him from our area for years to come. "

Is Jones No. 2 for 2010? -
1/13
Quote:
Commitment No. 2 for Paterno’s 2010 recruiting class could be on the way.
Junior quarterback Paul (P.J.) Jones from McKees Rocks Sto-Rox will visit Penn State on Saturday with a scholarship offer in hand.
The 6-foot-3 and 225-pound Jones completed 62-percent of his passes for 2,020 yards during his junior season. Jones connected for 24 touchdowns with just seven interceptions.
Jones’ performance was hardly a surprise. He passed for 1,886 yards and 24 touchdowns during his sophomore season. Jones threw just three interceptions that season and also rushed for over 500 yards.

Scout.com: Five-Star QB Looking Around
4/2
By Bob Lichtenfels. Paul Jones talks about why he has decided to visit some other schools, says there was no specific reason and couldn't even give his mother a reason. Says PSU is his favorite but he wants to be sure, and will visit Pittsburgh on Friday and WVU next Wednesday. Maintains that he is committed to PSU but the coaches told him he has to be happy and they will look as he looks...mentions interest in Oregon, UCLA, USC, Boston College, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
