Shows good urgency out of his stance and through the hole. Doesn't waste much time squaring up and accelerating through the downhill seam. A plant-and-go, downhill runner who can see and decisively hit the cutback. Shows good burst out of his cuts and reaches top speed quickly; can be a load for smaller defensive backs to come up and tackle when he gains momentum into the second level. Lacks great lower-body power and leg drive at this time but has a strong upper-body and is difficult to arm-tackle high. However, he needs to run more behind his pads as he tends to get chopped down low and can struggle with balance. Flashes more-than-adequate downhill burst but lacks an extra gear when he breaks free into the second level and good top-end speed. Has some shiftiness and can deceptively sidestep and make the first defender miss through the hole but is not overly elusive and projects to be more of a one-cut-and-go, college load-back at the next level. Has the compact frame and sturdy running style to remain durable in that role but we would like to see him work on his in-line body-tilt and improve power through his hips and lower-body to earn the tough yards after contact and drive the pile. Would benefit from added bulk but room for physical upside on his compact frame is a bit limited. Overall, Banks shows flashes of good burst and strength when projecting as a major college running back but projects to be more of a sturdy and consistent downhill runner than a guy with game-changing speed, explosiveness or power.
