Pace, O'Conner receive offers - ESPN

Quote:
Pace was not the only Ohioan to land a Big Ten scholarship offer this week. Wide receiver Tim O'Conner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) was very happy to receive an offer from Indiana.

"I talked to them on Tuesday and they offered a full scholarship," O'Conner said. "That was my first offer. I'm really excited about it. It is definitely an offer I wanted."

The 6-4, 190-pounder caught 71 passes for 1,004 yards and 13 touchdowns during his junior season. He also caught a state championship game record 15 passes in Elder's 28-20 loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius in the Division I state title game.

By offering O'Conner a scholarship, the Hoosiers got the jump on everyone else and it may pay off in the end.

"I definitely like Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Cincinnati," O'Conner said. "Those are probably the schools I like most, but Indiana is definitely on top right now."

O'Conner plans to attend an Indiana spring practice session next week and will also try to make it to spring practices at Ohio State and Purdue.
