DeSales scored three touchdowns in the first half, including receptions in the back of the end zone by tight end Chris Rock and receiver Ike Ariguzo, and held off Watterson 20-17 in front of a crowd of more than 5,000 in Alumni Stadium.

A close game didn't look to be a possibility after Rock caught a 20-yard touchdown pass with two defensive backs all over him, Sal Carfagna ran 2 yards for a touchdown and Ariguzo took the ball away from a defender in the corner of the end zone for a 12-yard touchdown catch.

"Ike and Chris stepped up for this game," DeSales quarterback Thomas Gentile said. "They made me look good. They have such soft hands and they are such playmakers."

Super Sophomore Chris Rock played a key role in Columbus (Ohio) DeSales first round victory over Columbus Watterson 20-17. Rock who many considered to be one of Ohio's top prospects in the Class of 2011 scored on a touchdown with two Watterson defenders giving tight coverage. Rock has the size (6-foot-4.5, 245-pounds) and physical abilities to be a national recruit. Several programs including Ohio State are looking at Rock early.
