Alexander is a dynamic running back prospect whose versatility should be garnering more recruiting attention. He lacks great height but is high-cut and layered with good bulk. Shows good in-line running strength, particularly when he attacks the hole and cuts sharp and decisively. Shows some good shiftiness and suddenness eluding defenders through traffic and slicing through the small cutback creases. Is at his best when he plants and runs downhill displaying his good burst and acceleration. Needs to watch his pad-level between the tackles but can run through arm tackles and drag the pile with strong leg drive when he decides to hit the north-south seam hard with good body-tilt. Hands and receiving skills are excellent making him a legit under-the-radar running back prospect in our eyes. Snags the ball away from his body, adjusts well to the difficult throw and does a great job plucking the ball in stride. Runs sharp, precise routes and shows good burst out of his breaks needed to separate. However, the good hips and smoothness he flashes at WR do not help his in-line running production. Tends to run high and could expose himself for major hits in college. His elongated lower-body makes it difficult to cut sharply once he generates good speed; loses some in transition when cutting laterally. Possesses good top-end speed with his long stride but tends to build it. Our main issue with Alexander is where to employ him at the next level. He could continue to physically develop into a slashing, between the tackles-type runner but durability is still a concern with his body structure and high running style. Potentially an effective third-down or scat-back type runner with his great receiving skills. Safety is not out of the question with his good range and great ball skills. Either way he is a sleeper and a kid whose stock should rise through the summer and fall.

RB Morgan Alexander (5-11 165) of Cartersville, GA has been drawing interest from USC and is expecting recruiter Shane Beamer to stop by his school this week. Alexander was just offered by Arkansas, his first offer of the spring. He's also getting interest from Tennessee, Indiana, East Carolina, Virginia Tech and Georgia Southern. Recruiters from Indiana, Georgia Southern, Virginia Tech and Tennessee have been thru. Alexander will miss all of spring practice after undergoing hernia surgery about a month ago.

Cartersville's Alexander waits for 'dream' offers | College recruiting | ajc.com

Morgan Alexander is a lot more than Donavan Tate’s sidekick at Cartersville.

In fact, Alexander, a speedy (4.43 seconds in the 40) running back/receiver/defensive back has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Louisville and Indiana. But he says he’s waiting on his “dream offers,” which he hopes will come this fall.

“I’m going to hold out to see if I can get some offers from Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State and Clemson,” said Alexander (6-feet, 180 pounds), a member of the AJC’s Georgia Top 150. “I like the [offers] I already have. But those are some other schools I’d really like to hear from.”

Tennessee joins chase for Cartersville's Alexander | College recruiting | ajc.com

Quote:
Cartersville running back and receiver Morgan Alexander said Tuesday night that Tennessee is recruiting him. Alexander has offers from Arkansas, Indiana, Louisville and South Carolina State.

“[Tennessee] has started to send me letters, too,” Alexander said. “I’m probably going to set up an official visit to Louisville. I’m supposed to meet with them when they come down next week.”

But Alexander said his primary focus is on helping Cartersville win the Class AAA title. The ‘Canes got off to a good start with a 25-20 victory against neighborhood rival Cass last week.

“Winning state is something this senior class has talked about since we were freshmen,” Alexander said. “We have so much talent, so many weapons and we have great team chemistry. There’s something about this team. If we keep working hard, I think we can definitely win state.”
