East Stroudsburg South Head Coach Ed Christian says:
“Corey is working his butt off to get stronger and achieve goals he has set for himself for the short term and long term. He is a very mature kid for his age, is well spoken, gets good grades and is a hard worker. He has great balance and flexibility and can really run well. When he gets hold of someone it’s over for them and he does a great job both pass and run blocking. He’ll need to continue getting stronger and learn to pick up the linebacker blitz on stunts going forward, but past that I’ve never had a player like him before.”

By Alkire...picked up written offers from PSU and Illinois last week and will make officials, but says he is solid to UVA. Says the UVA staff was not happy with his decision to take visits but understood. Talks about the in-homes he had with coaches from PSU and Illinois.

ThaKid says "both"? I'm shocked...
If Chuck Norris and Zook the Recruiter are ever in the same place for too long, would the world implode? Maybe we need to get NASA on that...

LOL........Hoch and Lewis are the two highest OL left on the board so that's why I said that. Lopo told me about the Hoch situation and it's basically came out from the insiders now too so I trust him (Not that I didn't trust him anyway 'cause I know who he talks to) on the Hoch situation that's why I think they will get him. And they will get Lewis. So I say both.

Indeed. My "source" has only been wrong once this year. And that player who he was wrong about shall remain nameless. Hoch's mother is making him take all of his visits to make sure he is sure about which school he will commit to. Just being a good mother.

Cavs' Lewis keeping his options open - poconorecord.com - The Pocono Record
Quote:
The Class AAAA All-State first-team performer, who verbally committed to Virginia last summer, hosted coaches from Illinois and Penn State at his home Monday. Lewis is scheduled to take his first official visit to Virginia this weekend and could take official visits to Illinois next weekend and Penn State on Feb. 1.
"I'm going to Virginia this weekend; my mother set that up," Lewis said Tuesday. "There's only three weeks left until signing day and if I'm going to take my (official) visits to all three schools it has to be in the next three weeks."
Those visits to State College and Champagne, Ill., aren't a lock.
"If I set it up and feel it's right with my family it will be those two, too," Lewis said. "Virginia's pretty much where I want to be. I've never been on an official visit there, I've only been on unofficial visits when nobody is really there. I think after this weekend my decision will be made, but you never know."
Lewis, who is originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., played his first two years of high school football in Christchurch, Va., before moving to Pennsylvania with his father shortly into his junior year.

Paterno makes his case with Cavs' star - poconorecord.com - The Pocono Record
Quote:
It's been a busy week for Corey Lewis.
After taking an official visit to Virginia over the weekend and hosting the Cavaliers' coaching staff at school Wednesday, the East Stroudsburg South left tackle took an official visit to Penn State on Thursday.
Lewis was hosted by freshman defensive end Devon Still and had dinner with offensive line coach Dick Anderson. Oh yeah, he also had a one-on-one meeting with Penn State head coach Joe Paterno at Paterno's home.
"It was an honor," Lewis said. "I just sat there in silence sometimes. I got to hear about his personal life, I got to talk to him and his wife (Sue)."
Lewis, who verbally committed to Virginia last summer, took the visit during the week because the Cavalier basketball team, which he starts for at forward, plays at Pocono Mountain West tonight and at Nazareth on Saturday.
Taking two official visits in less than a week gave the 6-foot-7, 290-pound Lewis, who was a Class AAAA All-State first-team selection, a lot to consider.
"I have to sit down and write things down and lay things out," Lewis said. "The facilities, the area, the people, all that factors in. This is a big decision that's going to affect the next four years of my life, my entire life."
During his meeting with Paterno, Lewis got to hear what the 81-year-old legend, who is second among major college coaches with 381 victories, thought about his play.
"He said I do a lot of things well," Lewis said. "He sees a lot of potential in me and thinks I could be great in time."
During his visit at Virginia, Lewis was hosted by freshman linebacker J'Courtney Williams, who he played with at Christchurch High School in Virginia. Lewis, who is originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., played his first two years of high school at Christchurch before transferring to Eastburg South as a junior. The visit to Virginia was Lewis' first official visit after taking numerous unofficial visits there.
"It was good for the most part," Lewis said. "I like the coaches and the players there."
Lewis said he most likely will visit Illinois next week and let the coaches from each school know his decision late next week. He'll announce publicly which school he's going to attend on national letter-of-intent day on Feb. 6.
"I just wanted to be able to compare," Lewis said. "I want to make an informed decision."

Good news. Lets get him on campus and hopefully have Zook, Lox, and the school wow him. I know PSU fans are desperately wanting another OLineman.

Lewis: Tough decision on where to go - poconorecord.com - The Pocono Record

The East Stroudsburg South All-State offensive tackle will announce his future plans Wednesday, the first day high school players can sign a letter-of-intent. Lewis will sign with Illinois, Penn State or Virginia, which he verbally committed to last summer. Lewis re-opened his recruitment late last year after the Fighting Illini and Nittany Lions came into the picture with offers.

From the UVA site...angry article about how UVA has been burned this year and other recent years by the lack of an early signing period...also mentions the latest casualty...Corey Lewis, who will join former UVA verbal Ugo Uzodinma at Illinois.
