GAINESVILLE - Former Hillsborough High star Jarred Fayson will transfer from Florida to Illinois, Fayson confirmed Monday night.

Fayson said he was comfortable with Illini coach Ron Zook and offensive coordinator Mike Locksley from their days at Florida. While in Gainesville, Locksley was Florida's running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. He also was in charge of recruiting Hillsborough County.

"I know a lot about Coach Zook and Coach Locksley," Fayson said. "They recruited me when I was a freshman and sophomore in high school. I glue with them pretty well."

i'm glad you started a thread about this because this is almost as good as getting a top-notch recruit. he will have 2 years left and he will be huge for us. Imagine Benn,Fayson,Jenkins,Cumberland and Chris James as the Illini WR's in 09'? We will be epxlosive on offense in the next fews year.

This is nasty and just plain not fair. Words can't even describe this. He is immediately the fastest player on the team and maybe the most fluid athlete. Some insiders have put him on par with Benn. Said he is REALLY like Percy Harvin but obviously Percy got the nod at UF and Jarred didn't think it was fair. This offense is going to be just nasty for Juice with these weapons.
