Moffett has offers from Illinois, Colorado and Cincinnati. The 6-4, 220-pound linebacker also has attracted interest from Tennessee, LSU, Ohio State, Miami (Fla.), Kansas State, Iowa and Northwestern. He hopes USC will call.

''He could be the best player we've had,'' said Hubbard coach Elton Harris, noting Moffett is the latest in a line of outstanding Hubbard linebackers that includes Reggie Cribbs, Chris Patterson, Ben Henderson, Fred Bateman, Juwan Blackman and Justin Hickman.

''I want to be better than those guys,'' Moffett said. ''I watch film of them all the time and see what they did. They were good, but I can be better. As a senior, I want to weigh 230 pounds and run 4.5 or 4.6 [down from 4.9]. I want the college coaches to see my leadership and ability to make plays from side to side.''

More info from my source at Hubbard...Doc Tressel was at Hubbard today, but all signs are still pointing towards an early pledge to Illinois.

An early pledge would be huge and a great way to start off a class with a 4star.

Its possible of a LB corp of Martez, Frierson, and Moffett by the Martez's senior year.

Wad your sources are very correct. Moffett is going to verbal very early...don't forget Studelin lopo....and I think Ian Thomas will have something to say about that. I also just noticed you said Martez's senior year....I don't think that will happen....watch how he explodes onto the scene this year and next....
