I would think it was the fact that he went to four different high schools in four different years that scared of other schools. He didnt qualify this year at Illinois but its great to see him getting his life straightened out and to keep his commitment to Illinois. He has the chance to be the star RB on the Illinois team once Mendenhall either goes pro this year or graduates after next year. He has the talent to be one of the best in the Big 10 if not the nation.

Any updates on the likelihood of this guy actually making it onto campus?

I've heard through the grapevine that he still may have trouble getting through admissions.

Unfortunately, he may not make it, and that is putting it kindly. It's a terrible thing too, 'cause I've heard him described as a "bigger Ray Rice" by a respected scout in PA. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere though if not at UI. I'm sure Zook and Co. will help him.

I wouldn't completely give up hope. UW got Daven Jones in last year after he sat out a year and went to Milford after attending Glenville. Jones arrived at the last hour, literally, but he made it.

"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."

Yes, it is time to complete give up hope.

He will NEVER make it onto campus.. Might as well remove him from the commitment list as well from what I hear if he ever plays college football it will be in the Big 12.
