North Carolina recruiting notes - ESPN

Quote:
Safety P.J. Clyburn (Statesville, N.C./West Iredell) has offers from North Carolina State, Illinois and East Carolina.

Clyburn was raised a North Carolina fan, but the Heels have not offered. Still, he remains interested in UNC and has them in his top two, along with the Wolfpack who have offered.

Quote:
Clyburn, 6-2, 205, 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Statesville (N.C.) West Iredell, received a scholarship offer from the Hogs on Thursday to go along with offers from Illinois, North Carolina State, Kentucky and East Carolina.

"I would like to stay in-state, but if I have to go out of state, I will," Clyburn said. "I'm willing to do it. I just want to play football."

Clyburn said he's talked to Razorbacks graduate assistant Marty Biagi, who said he could see Clyburn playing several positions because of his athletic ability and size. "I want to play receiver or safety in college," Clyburn said. Biagi made one comment that caught Clyburn's attention. "He told me they played like 16 true freshmen," said Clyburn, who has been clocked at 10.90 seconds in the 100 meters. "And they don't mind playing freshmen."
