Ricardo Miller isn’t the only big time 2010 wide receiver prospect from Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips High School. There’s another standout junior named Kenny Shaw. Shaw, 6-1 and 170 pounds, had six receptions for 72 yards and one score in their win over Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater last weekend.
“They can’t double both of us,” Shaw said. “We see a lot of zone defenses. While Ricardo may have that great speed, I am that elusive receiver with good hands. I run pretty good routes too.”
So far with recruiting Shaw has (verbal) offers from USF, UCF and UCLA.
“Supposedly Florida is going to offer me next week. I like the SEC and would love to play in that conference. I like teams like Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, and Florida. I also like schools like Illinois, USF and UCF.
“Ricardo and I would love to play together but he likes those northern schools.”
Shaw was in attendance in Gainesville last weekend for the Florida/Miami game. He doesn’t think he will attend any games this weekend. Dr. Phillips has another big game on Friday. This time they take on a very good and talented Niceville (Fla.) team.

Jamey Givens: Overheard from FSU NFTC - ESPN
Quote:
Two of the standouts from Sunday's FSU NFTC have seen their stock explode in recent weeks. Kenny Shaw (Orlando, Fla./ Dr. Phillips) and Telvin Smith (Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes) were both on the verge of committing to Florida State earlier this spring, but held off.
Now, they're both piling up offers.
"It's picking up a lot," Shaw said. "My offers went from two offers to like 18. Kansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, LSU, UCLA, Stanford, and I hope I don't leave any schools out. Florida, and Miami."

Shaw visited FSU unofficially last month, and wanted to pull the trigger then.
"Honestly the reason was my parents," Shaw said. "They wanted me to wait it out, take my visits over the summer, and then make a decision after my senior year."
Smith was in Tallahassee for FSU's spring game, and considered joining several of his teammates as commitments. His former teammate cornerback Greg Reid signed with the Seminoles in the 2009 class, and his current teammate, Ed Christian, was FSU's second commitment in the 2010 class.
"I did almost [commit]," Smith said. "I'm just going to sit back and see what happens. Florida State is definitely my No. 1 right now."
