'10 OH DE/OLB Jamel Turner (Official Offer)
One of the best players in Ohio regardless of class...his video is amazing and can be found here.

Sophmore film.
My take: This is 21's area of expertise, but I honestly was fairly impressed considering this is a sophmore playing DE at 6-3. If he continues to grow I would not be surprised to see this kid be highly recruited. Shows great athleticism and obviously has some strength as well. Seems to have a nose for the ball. Rivals lists him as a LB but I think he will grow into a DE.

Ursuline then went on an 11-play drive that ended with a play-action McQueen pass to sophomore tight end Jamel Turner.

After holding the Bears on downs after the second fumble, the Irish gave Waynedale a steady dose of Mason - mixing in a 41-yard pass play from McQueen to Jamel Turner for good measure - to drive 75 yards in eight plays, giving Ursuline a 6-3 lead.

Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan have traditionally been the big three among Midwest college football. Over the years they have battled it out on the field but even more on the recruiting front.
For the most part, the recruiting battles between the three are over for the Class of 2009. Ohio State already has 25 class of 2009 verbal commitments, while Michigan and Notre Dame each have more than half of their 2009 classes filled.
However battles are already brewing for a number of Class of 2010 prospects. Two such prospects are linebacker Jamel Turner (Youngstown, Ohio/Ursuline) and safety/linebacker Marvin Robinson (Eagle Lake, Fla./Lake Region).
The 6-foot-2 and 215-pound Turner, who recorded 23 sacks during his sophomore season, recently received scholarship offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford and Nebraska. He already had offers from Ohio State, Michigan State, Illinois, Wisconsin and Akron.
Turner is not close to selecting a college and says he has no leader, but it would not be surprising to see his decision come down to Ohio State, Notre Dame or Michigan. Turner plans to attend the Penn State-Ohio State game in Columbus. He also says he will attend a Notre Dame game and possibly a game at Michigan.
"I really didn't have a favorite school growing up," Turner said. "All of this recruiting stuff is new to me."

Great breakdown of Jamel's game against Mooney by one of BP's better scouts:

Unofficially I had him for:
7 tackles (3 solo, 4 assisted), 2 TFL, 1 sack, 2 FF, 7 QB pressures
What's amusing is that the Mooney QB only threw the ball about 10 times.. and on 7 of those plays Turner had him under heavy duress.
I am not sure what position he'll fit into when he gets to college, but he's an exceptional talent.. His closing speed sets him apart from any defender Ive seen tape on in the 09 or 10 class from Ohio. He's got a very nice spin move and a great shoulder dip that gets him into the backfield. He runs like a safety, but numerous times tonight showed a toughness and strength in holding the point of attack and penetrating vs the run. The highlights were three plays in particular.
The first being on a Mooney run, he's pushed way up field, off the screen, yet when the RB breaks outside and gets downfield, he flies in from behind the play and chases the guy down effortlessly..
The second, is on a 3rd down, Vinopal tries to bounce one outside, and Turner just closes on him in a hurry, grabs him behind the LOS, and rips the ball out as he takes him down.. Ursuline recovers
And finally, Ursuline up 10-0, under 5 minutes to go, Mooney finally get the ball in the red zone, and Turner runs through the blocking FB, and strips the QB.. and Ursuline recovers, sealing the game.
If there is a better player in the state of Ohio, I would love to see him.

My take: Jamel is the real deal. Excellent explosion, change of direction, and impressive frame. The OLB predictions are likely true and that will work with his burst and lateral agility.
