Local players among stars of recruiting showcase
Quote:

Deon Long, WR, Dunbar High (Baltimore), 6-0/180/4.50: Long has the quintessential receiver's mentality. "(The camp) is going good for me because nobody can check me," he confidently uttered during one of the breaks. "People were saying I couldn't get off of the jam, and I'm proving that I can against the best." Long showed deceptive speed, good hands and a desire to be physical. Michigan State was the first to offer him and is firmly entrenched in his top five.

ESPN - Linebackers aplenty at Penn State Nike Camp - Insider
Quote:
WR Deon Long (Washington, D.C./Dunbar)
The West Virginia Mountaineers are loading up on wide receivers and in time, Long might be one of the better ones they sign from this class. Long worked extremely hard and displayed great size, quickness and consistent hands throughout the day. He attacked the football, showed the consistent ability to stem defenders and eat up cushion and his size will certainly give him an edge in the red zone.

for how long will he remain committed to WVU? he may stay there, but this could change things now with Illinois having great success with the Dunbar kids.
to be continued....
